Charging equipment operator ChargePoint and General Motors will work together to install up to 500 ultra-fast chargers at strategic locations in the United States by the end of 2025, with a maximum power of 500 kilowatts. Based on General Motors’ GM Energy brand, many suitable locations will be equipped with ChargePoint’s Omni-Port charging system.

The newly built charging stations will be branded as GM Energy and are scheduled to be open to the public by the end of 2025. In addition, “many new charging stations” will be equipped with ChargePoint’s Omni Port system, which allows vehicles equipped with CCS or NACS charging ports to use charging stations without an adapter. In addition, “many” charging stations will be equipped with ultra-fast charging capabilities of up to 500 kW, but the two companies did not disclose how many locations or stations will be involved.

ChargePoint is heavily involved in the construction of DC fast charging infrastructure in the United States. A few days ago, the company just completed six fast charging corridors in Colorado and announced a charging cooperation with Nissan in October this year. In September this year, the company also signed an agreement to install more charging stations on highways in California.
