According to foreign media reports, industry insiders revealed that Hyundai Automobile Group is about to complete the construction of a solid -state battery test line at its UIWang Research Institute, and the trial production line is expected to begin in January.

A project insider said that Hyundai Automobile has almost completed the equipment installation work, and the installation of only logistics automation equipment has not yet been completed. But Hyundai Motor Company did not confirm the news.

The Institute of Modern Automobile Righteousness is located in Gyeonggi -do, South Korea, adjacent to Seoul, the capital of South Korea. In December 2023, the supplier of Hyundai Motor Group, Hyundai Mobis, established the “Righteous King Electrification Research Center” in the Yingwang Development Center to develop the next generation of electrification technology. However, the report does not clearly states that the pilot production line of modern solid -state batteries is located in the modern Mobis facilities, or it is responsible for other departments of Hyundai Automobile Group.

Through the start of trial production, Hyundai Motor plans to be equipped with solid batteries independently produced on the car and tested. The company also plans to mass production with solid battery electric vehicles in 2030. The capacity of solid batteries is usually higher than existing batteries, and it is safer, because such batteries no longer need to use flammable liquid electrolytes.

In the development of solid -state batteries, Hyundai Motors has also adopted a variety of methods, such as cooperation with professional battery developers such as SES A and Factorial Energy. It also conducts research and cooperation with the National University of Seoul (SNU), and the latter is also studying solid -state batteries.

Recently, modern cars have also begun to produce electric vehicle batteries by themselves, mainly producing lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries or nickel cobalt manganese (NCM) ternary lithium batteries with traditional liquid electrolytes. According to reports in September 2024, by 2027, Hyundai Motor will establish a nickel -cobalt -manganese battery test line at the ANSEONG R & D Center in Gyeonggi -do.
