Although this electric SUV was originally planned to be put into production in 2025, Toyota will postpone the production date to the first half of 2026. Prior to this, Toyota notified the supplier to slow down the launch of new electric vehicles.
As the world’s largest manufacturing plant in Toyota, Kentucky Factory will be the key to whether Toyota can keep up with the transformation of American electric vehicles.
The new spray paint workshop will be put into use in 2027, and advanced technology will be used to help “Toyota Motors stand out.” Kerry Creech, President of Toyota Kentucky Factory, said: “Our customers can not only get their favorite dynamic and stylish appearance decoration, but also Toyota’s promise of advanced paint technology has surpassed the category of aesthetics.”
Toyota said that the new spray workshop will increase the area of 1 million square feet (about 93,000 square meters) while reducing carbon emissions by 30%. In addition, the new workshop will reduce the amount of water consumption of 1.5 million gallons each year.
Although Toyota has postponed the production time of its large electric SUV in the United States, European customers can expect the company to launch a new electric model in the near future.
On December 12, Toyota released a new electric version of Land Cruiser, which is a pure electric cross -border SUV, which is slightly larger than Yaris Cross. The model uses Suzuki’s new electric vehicle platform and will be listed in Europe next year.
