According to the American Automobile News, in 2024, the annual sales of Ford’s Mustang Mach-E electric cross-border vehicles exceeded Mustang gasoline vehicles for the first time.

According to data from “American Auto News” research and data centers, last year, the delivery of Mustang Mach-E electric cross-border vehicles increased by 27%year-on-year to 51,745 vehicles, while the sales of Mustang gasoline vehicles fell by 9.5%to 44,003 vehicles, which is the The lowest level in at least 20 years. This is the first time Mustang Mach-E has exceeded the Mustang gasoline vehicle since its launch at the end of 2020.

Ford spokesman Said Deep said the sales of Mustang gasoline cars were hindered by some production problems and caused tight supply, but the company was still optimistic about the prospects of Mustang gasoline vehicles. DEEP stated in a statement: “Based on sales to measure the success of Mustang, it does not fully show the charm of the market segment. For Ford, Mustang is a profitable and vibrant business.”

Joe Bellino, the brand manager of Mustang, revealed that despite the decline in sales, Mustang’s share of Mustang in the sports car market last year rose about 10 percentage points. In addition, because enthusiasts are willing to throw a lot of money on accessories and special editions, this model can still be profitable, and the market acceptance of the seventh -generation model launched in 2023 is “relatively strong”.

Bellino said: “We are satisfied with the status quo of Mustang and frankly, we are also satisfied with Mustang’s future development direction. It is an important part of our business and will continue to be part of our business.”

In 2023, Ford launched the Mach-E Rally model focusing on off-road performance, expanding the Mach-E product lineup. At the beginning of last year, Ford added incentives to the model, and then sales began to soar. In October last year, Ford Motors provided household charging piles and installation services for free from US consumers who purchased their electric vehicles, which further stimulated the sales of electric vehicles.

At the same time, the product lineup of traditional Mustang models will soon grow. Ford had notified some dealers last year to expand the product lineup and show the dealers at a closed -door meeting a variety of versions including four -door coupe and four -wheel drive off -road vehicle.
