According to Reuters, on December 5, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) disclosed that Honda Motors was recalling about 205,760 SUVs in the United States, because the car’s refueling tube may be separated from the refueling pipeline when colliding, resulting Fuel leakage, thereby increasing the risk of fire.
Honda Motor said in the document published by NHTSA that due to a failure during the installation process, the refueling oral tubes and pipelines of the affected models cannot be fully connected.
The recall involved some of the 2023 and 2024 Honda Passport models, as well as some Honda Pilot models from 2023 to 2025.
Honda Motor said that from December 20, 2018 to November 2024, the company received only one warranty claim and did not receive any injuries and fire reports.
NHTSA added that if necessary, Honda car dealers will check and repair the refueling mouth tube and pipeline for free. The owner will receive a notification letter from January 6 next year. Car owners can also call Honda Customer Service Hotline 1-888-234-2138, and NHTSA vehicle safety hotline 1-888-327-4236 for consultation. Honda’s recall number is OKM.
It is reported that before, Honda Motors also launched a recall in North America due to fuel leakage. It is reported that in October this year, Honda Motors recalled 780,000 cars in North America due to concerns about high -pressure fuel pumps and fuel pumps. Among them, 720,000 units were recalled in the US market and about 61,000 in the Canadian market. Honda Motor also said that the company had confirmed that some models had fuel leakage and odor problems in September this year, and stopped shipping of affected vehicles.
At that time, Honda Motor pointed out that due to defects in the core components of high -pressure fuel pumps, cracks may be formed inside the fuel pump, and it gradually expands during driving, which may cause the vehicle to discontinue or drive the fuel leakage or issue fuel smell when the vehicle is stopped or driving.
