Paris, July 1, 2024 – Ampere, the electric vehicle business unit of Renault Group, announced today that it will include lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology in its plan to mass-produce electric vehicles. To achieve this goal, Ampere will work with leading global battery manufacturers CATL and LG Energy Solution to jointly establish a stable and efficient supply chain in Europe.
This cooperation marks Ampere’s further layout in the electric vehicle market. LFP batteries have gradually become the new favorite in the electric vehicle field due to their high safety, low cost and long life. Ampere hopes to accelerate the popularization of electric vehicles by cooperating with CATL and LG Energy Solution and leveraging its advantages in battery technology and production.
